NICK MANDRAKE

(Nick Mandrake is a 10-episode comedy web series I created as part of my Master’s Thesis at Cal State University, Los Angeles. I have always loved Film Noir, and I’ve always wanted to play an iconic hard boiled detective. Nick Mandrake isn’t exactly that, as he’s more of a sloppy drunken psychopath, but the project echoes Noir themes and tones and was a hell of a lot of fun to make.)

Nick Mandrake is a Private Eye and a public menace. With a gun he barely knows how to use, a bottle of whiskey which never seems to empty no matter how much he drinks, and a head full of bad memories.

And now, he’s here to teach YOU how to be a PI just like him! Followed closely by his good friend and camera man, Nick will teach you such valuable lessons as ‘Gun Safety’, ‘Stake-Outs’, ‘Talking To Ladies’ and ‘Covering Up A Murder.’

STAND-UP COMEDY

I’ve been a comedy writer for short films and publications for over a decade, and began working stand-up comedy two years ago. These are just a few early open mics where I began working on fleshing out material and learning how to make the funny with the mouth hole.

Also, some of the bits are occasionally inappropriate, so I guess a NSFW tag would usually apply? I mean, you probably should be listening to stand-up comedy on your work computer without headphones anyway though, because that’s just sort of bothersome to your co-workers. So, that’s on you, really.
